Arm Fat
Many women have an excess amount of arm fat,
specifically in the underarm area. Often viewed as unsightly, arm
fat is a common problem resulting from out of shape triceps and
fatty deposits.
There are three factors involved in decreasing
arm fat: body weight, body composition and muscle tone. Decreasing
weight generally results in a decrease of overall mass (including
arm fat). Body composition refers to the amount of body fat in
relation to the amount of muscle, water, bone and other lean tissues
in the body. Improving body composition is not simply a matter
of weight loss. When weight
is lost, fat is burnt off and muscle is preserved, improving body
composition. However, in order to lose weight and still stay toned;
reduced fat and caloric intake is needed, along with regular exercise.
Only reducing caloric intake or only focusing on exercise will result
in either loss of muscle and water with the fat dropped, or loss
of water weight without toning muscles. Either result will not help
decreasing arm fat. The bottom line to losing arm fat is to stimulate
the adipose cells
(or fat cells) through exercise to release fat into the blood stream.
Spot reduction of arm fat (or any other specific area) is not possible.
Fat which is burnt will come from all over the body.
